There’s so much to do and see in Bondi, it’s impossible to capture it all. There are new places opening constantly, it just keeps expanding and getting better. Each summer is better than the last. This guide is to provide you a “day in the life” perspective of your regular Bondi resident. It’s for the young and old, with a combination of hipster and regular great spots, so you can really appreciate everything Bondi has to offer.
BEST BREAKFAST SPOTS
Bills on Hall St: You won’t need to book, but you might have to wait. Prime time is 10:00-12noon. Corn Fritters, pancakes and the big breakfast are the favourites. Great coffee. Also has a great lunch menu.
Porch and Parlour: Healthy stuff and prime spot if you get an outside table. Would need to be early though. Green Breaky Bowl or Green Pea Pancakes with feta, smashed eggs, avo is good. Solid coffee too.
Bondi Markets : Head there on Saturday. Loads of variety. Coffee is great but can take up to 30 mins. Runs from around 8am through to 3pm. It’s prime is around 11:30am. I tend to enjoy a walk along the beach and then go around 9am. Hands down favourite is the corn fritter stand (The egyptian one).
Rocker – Amazing Breakie bowls and salads
Lox Stock & Barrel: Great breakie menu, get a table outside.
Shuk – They make the most amazing Shakshuka
The Nine – Healthier mediterranean option
Speedos Cafe – Generous servings, something for everyone.
Bennett St Dairy – Coffees are great, great busy vibe and serves breakie all day!
Harry’s – Buzzing. Really captures the Bondi vibe
Bondi Wholefoods – Lots of healthy and extremely delicious options

North Bondi Fish: I love this place! Great for a long lunch. Food wont disappoint and neither will the view! For lunch or dinner, great for drinks Sunday afternoon from 4pm onwards.
Bondi Hardware: Amazing night vibe, cocktail or menu! It’s all about smaller share plates, pizza, sliders and small plates of food. Vibes better at night.
Sefa Kitchen: A dinner favourite! Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant with incredible wholesome food made with love!
Upper East Side Bondi **NEW** Just opened up but has quickly become local favourite. Great vibe, gorgeous interior and incredible food! A must for dinner.
Da Orazio Pizza and Porchetta; It’s all about the Porchetta, a outrageous sandwich with roast pork straight from the rotisserie with eggplant, salad…it’s pretty awesome. Great for lunch and dinner.
China Diner: Killer dumplings prawn and sweet pea, crisp wonton with spiced lamb, steamed fish, duck pancakes, chicken wings and the spicy pork mince hotpot with some fried rice is good. Kitchen is open till late. Vibe is much better for dinner.
Lunch on the grass: Best spot for a $10 meal is the grass area. Just go near the main area near the beach in line with Roscoe St and get a salad, some fresh Vietnamese Rolls, Pork Roll, whatever. Easy and great view.
A Tavola: Super satisfying Italian! PASTA! PASTA! PASTA!
North Bondi RSL: Cheap and easy but with a fantastic view from the balcony. At night it sometimes has bands too worth checking out. Older crew.
Hurricans Bar and Grill – Just go for the pork ribs! They are heaven like candy meat!
Fish Bowl – Expect queues but the poke bowls are really good as a takeaway option.
Raw Bar – Favourite sushi spot in Bondi.
Pasha’s Lounge – The food is phenomenal here! The Turkish meatballs are everything.
BEST SPOTS FOR CHESS & WINE

There are so many, I could only list a few, otherwise this will turn into a novel.
The Bucket List: Awesome location by the beach for a drinks, food is really good too, there’s fish & chips, burgers, tacos and things to share. Best time to visit is on a Sunday from 2pm onwards.
Bondi Beach Public Bar **NEW** Recently opened and it’s exactly what Bondi needed! It’s great Thursday night to Sunday. Beautiful people strutting around everywhere, restaurant-quality food and great selection of drinks.
Beach Road Hotel Bondi: It has so many different areas. It’s good pub food actually. Sit in the front area or eat around the back in the booths. All ages but upstairs is where people will go to party.
Ravesis Hotel: Mixture of locals & tourist, good if you’re after a very casual drink. Head upstairs for cocktails or stay in the downstairs area. They have live music sometimes too – check their website.
Neighbourhood: It’s also a great place to go for dinner. A cool half restaurant, half bar. Go there for a early afternoon drink and sit in the front bar area, either by the bar on one of the tables. Good music and staff.
Ice Bergs: Not the RSL part, upstairs where the restaurants is ($$$$) . Head there for a sunset drink, the view is amazing! Sunday afternoon are the best, but expect a hipster crowd).
The Shop (the original small bar): Quaint but adorable wine bar, mingle with the smiling locals and enjoy a nice glass of vino. There are so many of these around that area so just walk around and explore (or ask in the comment section for more)
Mamasan – Loud music, load chatter, amazing Asian tapas.
SHOPPING IN BONDI
For threads head straight to Gould Street, all the shops are next to each other. If you’re after bondi hipsters men’s wear check out these shops all next to The Academy Brand , Orlebar Brown and The Annex . For local and international women’s designer goods, check out, Tuchuzy and Museum clothing . Great collection of mid range to expensive items. For some golden cheapies head to Inbetween tangerine they have some really cute dresses and playsuits There’s also a few other great stores scattered around for women’s swimwear Bikini Island has a great selection and so does Seafolly.
For a little pampering there’s a lot of nail places around – Mani & pedi should be no more than $A35, so don’t pay any more. These are my two faves Sydney Professional Nails, 27A Hall St, Sydney NSW 2026, Australia. there also another one on bondi road near the Corner House and Stuffed beaver. They always do a great job. No bookings required.
OTHER MUST DO’s WHILE IN BONDI
// Summertime. A video posted by ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ZAKandtheBOEING (@zakandtheboeing) on
Saturday Food Markets at the school: Loads of variety. Best option is as you walk in on right the big cook up, corn fritter breakfast stand for proper breakfasts. But the Bao Pork Buns are a must try for Dad. Spag Bowl Puff is good too.
Sunday Variety Markets at the school: Has various things from craft to clothing to check out. It’s ok, nothing is that fantastic and can be over priced for a market. Not food options just other things. If close worth look but not worth planning around.
Bondi to Clovelly Walk: Walk down around the cliffs past Iceberg to Bronte beach. Continue up the road to the path along the scenic graveyard down to Clovelly Beach. Follow the crowd, you won’t get lost. On the way back to Bondi take time to admire the amazing artwork along the promenade across from the beach. Also makes a great running route during the week.
